$500 Emergency Fund
Yay…I finally have one! I had read on MSN months ago how important it was to have one and now I finally do. But you know what? Now that I have $500 stashed away, it feels like peanuts. I’m sure this is a good thing since it will make me save more, right. $3,000 emergency fund sounds a lot better…

i find that setting up an ASP (Automatic Savings Plan) is the best way to save cash quickly without noticing. A lot of people have emergency funds at credit unions affiliated with where they work. I know that I’ve been able to save a lot easier with that method. See my posts about the difference between Banks & Credit Unions.
